June 17th 2000-September 7th 2013

He was the beginning of my venture into the world of Rhodesian Ridgebacks and CKC/AKC events.  He was my first show dog and conformation Champion, the first dog I competed and completed an obedience title with... he tried (and succeeded) at herding ducks, came to agility class with me and did everything I asked him to (even if he didn’t really see the point in jumping over things, climbing onto things and crawling through things)... He came to the American National Specialty with me twice.  He completed an endurance title at our second National in Virginia Beach (first time-and last time- we ever went bike riding together).  He was an avid lure courser, boy did he love to chase those bunnies! He also loved to pretend he didn’t hear me call when he was done his run and would tear around the field trying to yank the pulleys out of the ground, much to the dismay of the lure operators.

He was friends with everyone he met, 2 and 4 legged creatures alike.  A gentle soul with dark brown eyes that would hold my gaze, a dog that would go with me anywhere, try anything I asked, share breakfast, lunch, dinner and most importantly, the couch with me...

Owen my friend, thank you for 13 truly good years.  I love you, I miss you, but I will carry you with me in my thoughts and heart forever.  I hope there are all the bunnies you may ever want to chase, on the other side...
